This blog is a journal for a home garden in Pewee Valley, KY - a suburb of Louisville. It will take the garden from bare earth to something a bit more productive - if nearly as weedy. I'll also share what works for me from the perspective of someone with little time and less money to spend.
I just had my first batch of edamame beans from my garden -- actually from anywhere - I've never eaten, much less grown them. At any rate -- so good. The variety I planted is Beer Friend. They are so sweet and nutty. There's mo pic because I gobbled them all up. I boiled them in salted water for 5 mins then popped them out of the shells and salted them a bit more. Excellent.

I am a mother of 2 girls, married 16 years (omigod is that really true), originally from Lansing, MI. Michigan State University graduate from the School of Journalism. Former small-town newspaper editor (Portland and Grand Ledge, Mich.) Former writer and reporter for national newsletters on federal and private grants for nonprofit organizations. Move back to hometown from Washington, D.C. area led first to telecommuting for the newsletter then to full-time ebay seller (had been a hobby) when the company was sold and I could not face wearing panty hose again in any office anywhere. I now have more than 4,000 feedbacks and make okay money when I apply myself.
